GALAXIES- Far, far away!!

So a few weekends back, I had my mind blown. I visited the ever-so-wonderful BYU planetarium for the first time, and WOWZA, it was great.

During the presentation they put up on the large IMAX-type screen what I presume to be this lovely image below, taken by the Hubble Telescope.

On your meager computer screen with me as your moderately uninformed narrator, this wont be quite as awe-inspiring as it was for me, but stay with me for but a moment.

In the image above, each of those beautiful colored swirls--are galaxies. And the small glimmering whites that appear to be stars--ALSO Galaxies. (I believe. Maybe some of them are stars-ask a real Astronomer) My point? There are TONS of Galaxies in this picture. TONS! With all these galaxies, you would THINK this is an image of a large portion of the sky, right?

Wrong. Imagine taking a SINGLE GRAIN OF SAND and holding it out an ARMS LENGTH out at the HORIZON. THIS Image is comparable to the amount of horizon covered by that minute grain of sand.

THIS. Blows my mind. There are Millions of Billions of Zillions of other galaxies out there. All with millions of stars, with an innumerable number of planets revolving around them--most definitely WITH other people, other worlds, other forms of intelligences.

Even more amazing?? Even with this unfathomable number of other planets and worlds, with an incomprehensible amount of other people on them, God knows us. He knows our every thought, word, pain, sorrow, and triumph, and He loves US. Never mind the countless others, He loves us.

AND THAT, my friends, is fittingly "mind-blowing".
